Media Center Policies

                                                                  Media Center Policies
Welcome to Talladega High School Media Center! My name is Dena Bishop. I am looking forward
to working with your child this school year! Please read and complete the bottom portion of this
letter in order for your child to utilize the library media center to the fullest.

In order for your child to develop 21st Century Skills such as: Digital Literacy, Information
Literacy, Internet Safety, Netiquette, Safe Usage of Technology, and Effective Research
he/she will visit the media center when his/her teacher allows. Students will be allowed to
check out two books keeping them up to 14 days. Students are allowed to return one or both
books and check out more any time within the 14 days.

All visits will require a pass from a classroom teacher. Due dates are printed for each item upon
check-out. Students may also download the Destiny Discover App to track what books they have
read, want to read, check due dates, and request holds. You can find the Destiny Discover App
in the App store or Google Play. Please see Mrs. Bishop for instructions on using and
downloading the app if needed.

Please be aware that the full purchase price must be paid for any lost/damaged book.

If your child has any unpaid book fines, he/she will not be allowed to check out books until the
fines have been paid and are cleared.
