Meeting for Parents/Students who are planning on receiving instruction remote with a live teacher for the 1st nine weeks, and plan to return to in person instruction.

Now there's an echo on your side is there a tornado yes very severely one of your commute computers you're going to have to mute it at the bottom on the bottom right the video on my computer my webcam for some reason is not activated self try to make sure why does it matter if you all see me or not long as you can hear me will that be all right so we will go ahead and get started on this meeting is definitely for all of the pairs of the student who are planning to their to their students will do remote learning which means that the remote nominee remote learning option Lynn make sure I meet everybody the remote learning and will be for the ones who will receive instruction from the teachers via Schoology and so our teachers on campus will go live so many days a week play it is for the high school you will have live teachers the students will have live teachers everyday of the week right now the current plan for the teachers going live will be all of our students will have selected time how to get all for their math science English and history so for an example if you are a 9th grader a 9th grader will have algebra potentially from 8 to 8:45 and all of my 9th graders will be not responsible for getting on their schoology account clicking on their link for that live session during that time for their bath okay then find the schedule for a different time play student won't have to live teachers at the same time okay all of the students will have a schedule ninth-graders will have a schedule 10th graders will have a schedule and it will be according to the subject that they're taking on their actual skin but they will need to get on their schoology account at the time frame listed on the schedule that's provided we will pass those out on Monday and Tuesday during the Quan pick up day the Chromebook pick up day but all of the corps teaches will be live Monday Wednesdays and Fridays and they will teach you live sessions on Bell rotate so math may go first English magos 5 Mega third bagel for okay and for every grade level that may different be different it may be history first for 10th grade so on and so forth but you will have the schedule in hand so you will know exactly when the teacher that your child when their class is actually in live session we made it as simple as possible I will see if I can share the screen so you can all see an example of what that looks like okay so give me one second almost share my so you can have an idea to what I'm talkin about all right all right here we go everyone see the screen now that I'm pulling up yes yes before it example here ninth-grader Monday Wednesday Friday they were have their core subjects so for a student if the student has an algebra 1 on their schedule this semester they will be on Algebra 1 on their live link from 8 to 8:45 and if their teacher is Miss Cole they will be on a remote learning late from 8 to 8:45 for algebra that's all of the students they take Miss Cole regardless of the. On their schedule if they take Miss call the first semester they will have Algebra 1 for 8 a 45 if your child has a 9th grader and they take out who won honor they all have mr. Jones from 9:30 to 10:15. So as you look at the schedule I'll provide this for you and as you see there's no conflict in subject area so a child doesn't have to choose between a math lake and a English Lake going on at the same time all of these sessions will also be recorded but for the high school going to require for attendance for those students Beyond at those times of the day I asked you can see here we are only going instructionally until 11:45 so that is not that long you all so we are expecting our students to be on as much as possible to get as much instruction as possible for from their core feature does that make me now for Tuesdays and Thursdays this same exact schedule is a duplicated for their Career Tech classes so they say class like family and consumer science phytologie are agriscience or robotics or animal sign if they take a Career Tech class being Bay wool are the critic teachers will be on live on Tuesdays and Thursday and you will have the same type of schedule for Career Tech and that is already completed as well and I will provide that for you all on the pickup days on Monday and Tuesday will you be by and pick those up okay all right now make things I want to speak about a reference to schoology so this is what the schoology website looks like here okay this is what it looks like however for you to get into the schoology website what I'm going to need will you to do as a parent is go to the Talladega City Schools page of course, Yuba City school that looks like this the easiest way to do it and we're going to try to put it on the parents tab but as of right now it is all the employees pay app we called the employees to happen if you go down to schoology everybody see the schoology icon here we will click on the schoology icon and your child would have a Chromebook let me log out so you can actually see what it will request for them to do okay I'm going to log out of it so when they go to the city schools website and they go to schoology icon this is what's going to happen on their computer is going to request for them to choose an account to use to login to schoology schoology is already late to their Talladega City School email address they need to use their Talladega City Schools email address if they already have okay we will provide those for you again just in case the students have forgotten though on Monday with the rest of your paperwork I will be in the packet that you will receive okay just in case they forget it but it should already be logged into their Chromebook it's going to be stored in their Chromebook as well so once they click on the email address that they're going to use they click on it click the next bud and it automatically log them into their schoology account does that make sense okay and then as you see here all of the courses that they're enrolled in they'll pop up and they'll just be able to click on the class if they are enrolled in order example if I click on one of these classes and you see this unit 1 Algebra 1 it would give them an option according to the work that's supposed to do daily from their course okay and you will be something as simple as when you go back out of this play we were working in Algebra 1 I will click on the algebra one folder the teacher may have assigned an assignment let me show you what one may look like so here it says rounding decimals watch it so the teacher may I sign this assignment and it'll pop up on the screen let's see I believe it's active yet because we're not in school session but are there so see how I it pops up it says practice it and if the teacher has assigned then I'll be able to go down through that interactively and select their answers and stuff and so it will be a stripper that they would not have Shelton alternative website or anything like that to complete that assignment all of that will be shared and schoology it will be listening the teachers will give them in the instruction and they will teach through these things so you will be able to see it as well okay I'm going to get all probably on sorry. To Williams I have a question so if they are doing this that's all but you've got pulled up right here where did I put their answers okay so I'm logged in as a as a teacher so I don't have an interactive option for me but when the student login it will be an intern I found it so they'll have an answer that I can mark all right thank you there's nothing in there right now correct right now can let me see if I can show it to you estate let me see if I can view this as a so you can see what it looks like and I'll go to do a training on this again this week like Friday or Monday and I'm going to record it and you all will have access to it okay okay so I'm not able to access it from the student perspective but it will be interactive for everyone not yet I just wanted to make sure I didn't mess up I will do another training and I will walk the students exactly through how to operate their schoology account later on this week with the access codes are a because we're not an active academic session right now all of the actual courses are locked from being interacted because they're not active yet okay because the actual School stunt double let's see but I will do a training on this schoology office for students to understand exactly how to work it and what they need okay but we're going how to remote learning remote learning will be for the students who will go the nine weeks I'm at the house and they will actually have a live instructor there's a difference between this and virtual virtual students will be on the apex program they will not so the time to clear that up if you choose virtual all year your child will not have a live teacher like Miss cold or mr. Jones and mr. so Desi their work will be independent so if you choose the bird option upholstered the remote option does not have a teacher from the high school assigned to it so I want to clear that out so that students will have to independently do that work and go through it his or herself bouquet an apex is something that we've used before but remote learning will not involve Apex at all okay this is totally new everybody will be using schoology and schools p o p all right now that they're a big question. I like paperwork and and things like that all of the students on Monday or Tuesday like I said we're going to pass out Chromebooks in order to receive the Chromebook the student has to have completed the registration packet so that's it enrollment packet they have to fill out every year okay they had to also have no appendix fees and stuff that they owe from a previous year and they finally they have to fill out the Chromebook and then that technology acceptable use form so on Monday when we pass out Chromebook this is how it's going to work we're asking the parents to drive all the way around cover Taco drive-thru we will pass out the information that needs to be filled out we're going to act all of the parents part feel dolezal particular papers out back in the line for the keep moving and get that device or keep moving so that we don't hold up the line with a parent with your parents trying to fill out the form because their parents of them already filled them out so we just going to try to keep that line moving as steady as possible so there are no hiccups in Ojo okay so if you have to fill out the forms on Monday or Tuesday we're going to ask that you grab those forms that you come to that drive-through Park in the outside parking lot there at the high school once you feel them all out and have everything you need you bathe a hand that package ASAP Bail checked out that packet and then they'll head your Chromebook if you need one we will do this two days in a row on Monday we will be Chromebook and a username pass out and all of that on Monday from 11 to 2 okay we will also do it on Tuesday from 3 to 5:30 go from 3 to 5:30 on Tuesday do I have any questions in reference to that are we still good yes okay so all the last couple of days and I wanted to mention we have half a parent ask about internet so if we do by chance have parents that are needed internet services I would like to show you that going bad the state department issue where is it I know I moved it Miss I can respond actually all right committed a hundred billion dollars right here to the coronavirus Aid relief to deliver free internet access to eligible K-12 students in their home state of used Mazda parts and service for low-income households so students receive free or reduced lunch they qualify for this service okay so if you will stop at the top ABC if that's something that Talladega City Schools website click on parents at the very top there's a bat School parent information here click on that and once you click on that the forms are right here registration form if you click on the icon star registration it will pull up the forms at the district have and just go down to the secondary space here for virtual and just click the application there is a coup application there and this is only if you change your mind and you want your child to go Birch was staying home all you now I would like to know if you change in the middle of the semester that's not going to be beneficial so as the principal at the high school I'm asking that if you decide to change methods of instruction from remote to Virtual or vice versa please wait until January change of the semester okay because if you don't you're going to your child is going to lose credit we don't want them to lose credit so they don't have to start over but if they wait until January the phone have to start any coursework Over Texas are all of the students are we new class the last thing I walked out today is we are on block schedule so that means that your child will only be responsible for four classes this semester so don't look to see play they will only be responsible for classes before classes are on their schedule for classes the first time that they will be responsible for so they may not have an English Math Science and History they just may have English map in Salty Sea Chase so they may not have four or subject for my seniors that's trying to graduate early please make sure that you beat with the counselor they're going to send you a note location for medic when you to check your diploma type in your requirement so you need to make sure that you get that scheduled meeting so that they can verify everything and make sure that your December that's what you're trying to do all about dual enrollment student was still have to fill out those doing aerobic packets like normal and turn those into the proper places okay so the teachers that you will have for doing the road like the starter or Miss Turner y'all that you still take those courses you would still be required to do it at Where did you say the technology agreement is located it's going to be in the handbook so what do when they come on Monday to pick up the forms in access codes and passwords that handbook ready to pass out to the students and then like I said they don't have to go to the back of that handbook like normal tell that read it and sign it thank you no problem about the Chromebook pick up if the parent is not with the child that say the grandparent has to bring them because parents something to pick up their food their Chromebook that the parent has to be there or will it be okay if they their grandparents package has already filled out necessary paperwork then they won't need it they won't need you as a parent but the parent has not a package then the only person we will issue an enrollment packet to will be the guard okay so at that point they were be able to retrieve an enrollment packet to get the Chromebook if they don't have a guardian but if you already handled everything else you would they will be able to come with your mom and she can pick that up for him she can find those. the note for everyone there is a $15 Insurance be for the Chromebook okay that's it covers any damage lost or stolen device I'm strongly encouraging for anybody that don't to get a device pay the $15 cuz if not if anything is wrong with that device at that point you'll be charged $300 and they will be placed on the dead list okay that swims at the child already has a Chromebook at home they don't need to come pick up one right no ma'am all they'll need to pick up that day will just be their username and password and just trying to be in and out they will have to fill out if they can pick up their handbook and keep moving and just get their act as username and password hi. At the beginning of the meeting Beaver Show a timeline for 9th grade is that going to be the song same time frame for the 10th graders as well or is 19th and 11th and 12th all going to have different time frames on when they need to be online all of the time frames to be all night is the sign but it just depends on what teacher they have will depend on when they're in math like that so looking at the chick right here see how the time frames on the side of the same but they just they have a different subject and different 11 play just the same to their own from 8 to 11:45 as well but they just have different time slot for the different subjects that we're offering on for their core subjects yet all the times are the same but the subject and when those subjects are often are different that's the only thing that's different playing this is going to be on the side as well on window have their schedules and stuff on when they need to be on as well the website as well as opposed to the Facebook page and we're going to pass this out to the students when they come through on Monday and Tuesday to pick up their packets so one of these will be there for all students so. If we start with the remote learning would you have to do is virtual swap over to barf you would have to swap over the bar to if you decided that you want to keep your child at home after the first nine weeks the only thing that I was saying references that again is your changing platform no credit for that time so that's that's why we were saying for parents to really strongly consider what they will potentially be comfortable with and to start that way the first semester I'm now is it possible to change yes it is it would just require your student to do more work to get back caught up with the other platform saddle everything else okay how do I find out if my daughter is a boat because I signed up for the virtual before the remote was off and but I don't know. when you find a remote that I was down for the because he had my name he called me but this is what I that's what I was trying to decide what so you offered that the remote was offered after so that's why I was trying to say will you make that decision when you fight list the biggest what's weighted to a year remote Learners will have an actual teacher virtual learning know that's huge for 3rd students in third in a parent that's the thing to think about when you're deciding between okay thank you hey. I got I got to basically a two-part question so the first part is you said something about the dual enrollment packet my daughter just had signed up for some dual enrollment classes but I don't remember any additional paperwork is that something that I need to get Monday or 60 SEC just dropped but normally like Talladega and cacc will update their package the is called what is it called jump start every year so I'm not sure we have do with it from Talladega get but yes we will try to have those available on Monday you would just need to let whatever teacher is out there when you come through the line let them know that you need a dual enrollment packet of it still out and then you just now if your child is going to do dual enrollment they're going to have to do remote work cuz we don't offer dual-enrollment on Virtual because the top we have to go with the college's platform so if they are doing just of 9 weeks out and then y'all can I know you were showing us where to do the but is it the same form online as we did when we turned in the original enrollment packet second or do we need to go back and do it all my sister if you can please go back do it because I think they updated that form in the middle of the summer so it's a newer form so we're going to actually need the newer form so that's how they don't line for everybody can just fill it out online just in case it was the old forms so please go back here refill out that old I mean the new electronic form that way we we know that it's taken care of I have a question was missing his Core math for the first semester and second semester with these changes will it show up when I pick it scheduled for Monday when you pick up his schedule the last time did he not get it fixed we've been trying to get it fixed but you all have been trying to figure all this out and so she said she was going to call us back but a couple of times we wait on the call she was in a meeting so I don't know what happened so I don't know if Schedule C corrected Miss Patterson Jaylen Patterson's mother Patterson I will have some I will call you when you get off okay and Justin Wilson I will also had an issue and we were supposed to come back and try to get the revised schedule because the class was created yet so I need to check up on that as well and we can do those revisement at any time except we won't be to do them on Monday from 11 to 2 when we're passing out Chromebooks but outside of that we can do them where you know that's what we're still working out now so if you have issues like that Miami star please get those pics just let me know send me an email or inbox me and just let me know and I'll try to get those taken care of now the only thing I would like to know if I have any more questions I will try to take those but Z kutzall in about 40 minutes so we only have about 45 seconds so if I have any more questions if you will ask those real quickly and I'll try to answer them real quickly what are the guidelines for the football game can you tell us that hip is still up in the air I'm right now you know I think we're looking at maybe no band participate and maybe potentially living the number of fans so that they can social distance but that's not set in stone yet so I don't want to just you know speak too early and everything changes so it could change tomorrow but as of now they're still playing on we just don't know the total is cases that we have to put on I'm attendance and things like that so but will put that information out as soon as I have it okay hopefully this trying to clear up some information for every
